Maeve Hunter  Artist Crafter Educator

 I am an artist, crafter and educator. I have a BDes in Textiles,a HDip in Art and Design Education and a Masters in Visual Arts Education. As part of my masters I set up a Room 13 studio in St. Jerome's Children's Home in Nakuru Kenya.  I am a  registered secondary school art teacher. I have experience in giving workshops and classes to all abilities and ages and one to one tutoring to students with special needs. I have worked in  professional theatre and films dyeing and breaking down costumes. My  art work has sold  in retail outlets and exhibitions and has  also been commissioned. I am on the education panel in the Crafts Council of Ireland and I am also a member of Visual Arts Ireland and TAG Tinahely Arts Group. In 2013 I completed a three month Artist Residency in John Muafangejo Art Centre in Windhoek Namibia. I worked for three years as the Outreach and Education Officer at the Courthouse Arts Centre Tinahely. I am now a Travelling teacher at MaeArtEd providing textile workshops to all ages and abilities wherever I am needed.
